Territory
The territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan consists of 86,6 thousand km2 (11,5% of forests, 1,6% of the water basin, 50,0% of planted lands, and also 27,0% of rooms and 36,9% of other lands).
The country is located at the latitude of 39 ° 24 ', 41 ° 54' North and at the longitude of 44 ° 46 ', 50 ° 45' East and the capital, Baku locates on the 40° parallel.
The neighbouring countries are Iran to the south (765km), Russia to the north (390km), Turkey to the west (15km), Georgia to the northwest (480km) and Armenia to the west (1007km).
The Coastline length is 713 km, distance from Baku to North Pole is 5500 km, to the equator 4400 km.
